Mitchell M. Lombard’s leadership at Atlas Embroidery is the culmination of more than 30 years’ experience in all facets of the manufacturing business. His demonstrated ability to take companies and grow them through strategic alliances is legendary, most notably in the sports manufacturing world.
Lombard is a nationally and globally accredited wholesale and retail designer and buyer. His extensive knowledge of world tennis and golf markets, product lines and maintenance plus his excellent sales track record, promotional skills and ability to forecast and merchandise market trends has enabled him to successfully negotiate and acquire the Arnold Palmer license for golf accessories. He also assisted in developing Alien Golf Products from a single–item company to one with a full complement of golf clubs, accessories, golf bags, carts and gloves. Additionally, he masterminded alliances with ProSelect (world’s largest club maker) and SoftSpikes (world’s largest provider of spikes).
Lombard was the driving force behind the acquisition of Gold Eagle professional golf products in the mid-1990s. He subsequently took Gold Eagle to the number-one volume position in accessories worldwide. Over the years, Lombard has designed, sourced and produced golf products worldwide.
Perhaps his most important leadership quality – knowing the intrinsic value of developing and maintaining important personal relationships with customers, vendors and employees — was honed at Lombard’s Sporting Goods, a family-owned sporting goods business that thrived under Lombard’s near 20-year tutelage. He also supervised all aspects of retailing from product purchasing to floor presentation to customer service, and he hired, trained, and supervised the assistant buyers and sales staff.
