Eco-Friendly T-Shirts by Ecobabble

Ecobabble’s mission is to provide current fashions on sustainable garments. In Short, we create lifestyle clothing for those that “care what they wear”.

We at EcoBabble strive to restore ecological harmony one garment at a time, and do so in American factories using 100% pre and post-consumer recycled materials. Each garment contains 50% Recycled Cotton and 50% Recycled Polyester which is created by breaking down recyclable Soda and Water bottles.

EcoBabbles’ mission is to lead the textile industries movement towards Sustainability. We are firm believers that by developing garments using recycled fibers we are doing our part in making the world a greener place for our future, and that of many generations to come!

Ecobabble Recycled garments are produced and decorated in the USA using PVC-FREE Waterbase Inks which create a 100% Environmentally Friendly product. One T-shirt is created using 5 Plastic Bottles!

Recycled Fabric

We use 100% Recycled ring-spun cotton/poly jersey material reclaimed from 50% pre-consumer recycled cotton waste and 50% recycled polyester (recycled plastic bottles) which creates a 100% recycled cotton/RPET fiber.

Our traditional t-shirt line uses an 18-1 thread size with a fabric weight of 5.7 ounces per square yard. Beyond the basic, we are also creating thinner more fashion oriented 20-1 fabric as well as thinker gauge Fleece items.

The fabric processing starts by collecting preconsumer cotton waste from major textiles mills. The cotton components are then separated by color, shredded and then turned back into fiber before being blended with the Polyester RPET fiber. Finally the resulting Recycled yarn is ring-spun for an ultra soft hand-feel, and then knitted into jersey fabric.

Using recycled fabrics helps our planet in many different ways: By removing the cotton and plastic bottle waste from the landfills, methane release into the atmosphere is reduced. By reclaiming the cotton, each shirt we create prevents approximately 1/4 pound of harsh chemicals from being sprayed onto the soil which would otherwise be used to grow new cotton. This reduction is possible due directly to the lack of having to spray pesticides during the farming process as well as the need to dye newly produced cotton.

As you can see, the benefits of RPET are phenomenal. In fact, according to the EPA, 2/3 less energy is required to Manufacture products made out of RPET than those made from scratch.

Lastly, please know that beyond the recycled cotton component, each RPET shirt we manufacture prevents 5 PVC bottles from sitting in a landfill for 100+ years!
