Just before catching their flight, the team got in a quick practice and talked about the intensity inside the arena Monday night and the goal Thursday of trying to take Chicago’s fans out of the game. ”It’s the best. The Miami Heat haven’t quite clinched the Eastern Conference Finals, but a Fort Lauderdale company is cranking out T-shirts in case they do Thursday night in Chicago. The Heat beat the Chicago Bulls in a 101-93 overtime thriller Tuesday night in Miami to take a 3-1 lead in the best-of-seven series.

Atlas Embroidery & Screen Printing has been designated by NBA-licensee Adidas to have the championship gear ready to ship out this afternoon for any postgame locker room celebration. The standard procedure is to have the shirts ready just before a potential series-clinching game, so the order isn’t a slap aimed at the Bulls. “It’s a necessary process; the Heat might clinch,” said Adam Cohen, vice president of sales with Atlas.

Statistically, it’s extremely rare for an NBA team to come back once they are down 3-1 in a playoff series. The Heat just have to win one out of the next three games to get to the NBA Finals.

The Dallas Mavericks are up 3-1 in their series, so there’s a potential rematch of teams that faced off in 2006, when the Heat won its first championship. “I think it will be Dirk Nowitzki against LeBron James,” Cohen said. “It will make for some great T-shirts.” Both Nowitzki and James have been NBA players of the year.

Cohen said Adidas briefed him at the beginning on the week on some “what if” scenarios for the Eastern Conference Finals….

The shirts are hot off the presses and heading to Chicago so the Big Three and the entire Heat team can sport them after Game 5.

“For right now they’re going to American Airlines Arena and some are going to Chicago after they’re victorious tomorrow,” Adam Cohen, Vice President for Atlas Embroidery and Screen Printing, said.

The shirts and the wins all started with that now infamous announcement from Lebron James: “I’m taking my talents to South Beach.”

“I believe we ran about 80 thousand shirts over that next 18 hour period,” Cohen said. If it’s up to Heat fans, Atlas will have to continuing pumping out thousands of shirts for the next few weeks. “We haven’t seen demand like this down here since we won our first championship,” Cohen said.

And they may be jumping the buzzard, but it looks like they’re banking on the Miami Heat bringing home the championship trophy too. “I actually got some graphics already for some championship merchandise,” Cohen said…

Today, Atlas Embroidery & Screen Printing has grown from a small room with two employees to a 24,000 sq. ft. production facility, with shipping and receiving departments and executive, sales, and management offices. Having acquired all these facilities, we also purchased the parcel across the street for our planned expansion. Yes, we are very optimistic about our future and, by extension, we are very optimistic about our promotional distributors’ futures as well.

Our equipment investment has been enormous as well because we always want to be in the forefront of both embroidery and screen printing technology and capabilities. The class teaches techniques in improvisations, movement and music to over 300 children, adults and seniors with developmental and physical disabilities weekly.
